I've spent twenty years making software feel less like enterprise software. I started out building e-commerce sites alongside print design — pairing pixels and paper before "design engineer" was a job title — then spent a decade building for Macy's business teams, architected frontend platforms, and now build AI interfaces at the Federal Reserve Board.

The through-line

Every role has been about the same thing: taking complex systems and making them usable, accessible, and fast. That's true whether the system is a retail logistics portal, a design system serving multiple engineering teams, or a RAG pipeline answering an economist's question.

How I work

I believe AI is a force multiplier for engineers with real expertise — not a substitute for it. I mentor teams on exactly that: how to use AI tooling without letting quality drift.

Off hours

I'm a photographer, a gardener, and a Postcrossing enthusiast — I've sent postcards to strangers around the world for years. I write at unbrokenhorse.com.
